Modified Predecents
Modified Precedent One
The manipulation of building was to create a hybrid of a public space and residential space. The top and bottom of the building provide facilities and an public space for a cafe or pavilion. The middle section of the building hold a residential space which is designed to differentiate what is public and private such as noise and space.

Modified Precedent Two
This modification was done by using bend and taper tool in 3DS Max, changing the top and bottom half into a pyramid like shape opposite each other to form an interest and viable model. It shows the difference in space between top and bottom and what it can be used for.

Modified Precedent Three
This model displays an artistic design made from 3DS Max by using the pre-design of the precedent building and the tools Procutter, Bend, Taper. This created three levels of different shapes and sizes shown in the exterior. The interior model shows the floor levels (yellow) which displays an interesting spaces throughout the whole building.

Architectural Precedent
Adolf Loos Moissi House 1923
source: http://atlasofinteriors.polimi-cooperation.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/loos-1924-villamoissi.jpg
The chosen precedent is Moissi House designed by Adolf Loos built in 1923. Adolf loos conveyed interesting usage of stairs and spaces which implements circulation and comfort for a residential building. The roof top courtyard and the main outer stairwell creates a welcome gesture to the surroundings which also provide the notion that it can be a safe haven or "pavilion" where you can stop and rest.
Artistic perspective of the Moissi House
Perspective view 1: Shows the roof top court yard
Perspective view 2: Shows the main staircase that wraps around the building
South Elevation
West Elevation
North Elevation
Section: Number of floor levels and rooms provide good use of space
Stairs is the most important feature of the building maximising circulation

Phase Two Submission
Phase 02 : Submission
Script 1 : Mobility
The pavilions was inspired by 'Slime Mold' an organism that makes some sort of network to find a source whether if it's food or a place to bath or amenities according to the brief. The structure creates some form of space where design choices can be made to place or install the facilities to the design.
Iteration 1
Iteration 2
Iteration 3
Script 2 : Emergence
In this script Grasshopper and Kangaroo was used to create and an emerging pavilion from the ground where it can be re-scaled to size and space provided for the description of the brief.
Iteration 1-3
Script 3 : Terminal Line
The terminal line inspiration came from Preston Scott Cohen's projects and the facades that was produced. In the script prisms apply the deign facade shape of the pavilion and an attractor to create different forms to suit the level of the site.

Phase Two
Assignment one submission phase two
Unreal engine file : Assignment one
The quantitative data that I have represented in my assignment is about climate throughout the year providing the average, high and low degrees Celsius within the proposed site. The data was taken from the bureau of meteorology nearest to the site and was displayed by altering the particle system to representation quantitative data

Site Video
Above is a 30 second video showing the site model of Woolloomoolo proposal. My interests in quantitative data are climate, rainfall and transportation to be shown within my site.

Understanding of UE4
UE4 navigation, interface, and browsers
1. Easy navigation shortcuts:- (hold down right-click) and W, A, S, D. (first person shooter control)
- (hold down left and right click).
- E = up
- Q = down
- (while holding right click down)
C = zoom in
Z = zoom out
(letting go of right click makes it normal again).
- (scroll mouse up and down) to increase speed of mouse.
- (hold Alt + Left click) to orbit.
- (hold Alt + Right click) to pan.
- Hold Shift + Drag (moves object + camera together)
- class blueprints allow objects that can be activated in game (opening and closing) and grouped to a type of object (doors).
2. Interface can be customized for ease of use, through the use of tabs docking windows to different parts of the interface.
3. Assets and objects are easy to import, locate in the interface contents browser and place into the unreal engine world.
4. compared to other programs unreal has many shortcuts to make development and designing for convenience and ease of use in terms of navigating, interface usage and browsing for objects and items.
5. manipulation of objects moving, scaling and rotating in the X,Y,Z axis are basic knowledge, with shortcuts these tools are good in development.
Independent Study
UE4 - Level designing1:) Simple to use option tool bar to snap, rotate, scale, pan etc. The snapping tool is very inconsistent when connecting to objects together to make it flush with each other, unlike other modelling programs.
2:) There is a 4 screen grid that is similar to other program which makes modelling more precise and accurate. Although it has some difficulties with too many lines and grid lines which makes it hard to see although you can changed the setting to fix these problems which takes time.
3:) There aren't much options in modelling where you can manipulate an object to its full extent, thus making modelling is time consuming.
4:) In terms of graphics and the engine is relatively fast compared to other gaming engines such as cryengine
5:) Once you get the hang of using unreal engine it has a lot of potential in creating something more spectacular
